Setting:
In many ways, the world of Teen Wolf is like our world. Beacon Hills itself is in California. Allison jets off to Paris. It's Earth. Except, it's Earth with several supernatural influences - some of which we still haven't even discovered. But, to explain this, we have to start at the beginning.
According to Greek myth, some humans believed they owed their lives to Prometheus (and not the gods they should've been worshipping.) In fact, some openly opposed and challenged the gods. A man named Lycaon was one such man. Zeus took mortal form and visited Lycaon's village. It's said he invited Zeus to a banquet. He tried to serve him human flesh. (Lycaon was a wealthy man who kept prisoners.) Because of this, Zeus punished Lycaon and his sons by turning them into wolves. Lycaon sought out the druids to help turn him back. The druids, unable to reverse the process, did teach them to shift back and forth.
Werewolves
Just like it says on the tin, a werewolf is a human who's bitten by an alpha werewolf. Few werewolves in this canon can fully shape shift. Detailed below, wolves grow hair and fangs and talon-like nails. They tend to travel in packs. Being pack means something deeper than family. You have each others' backs. It goes deeper then most people think. It is taken seriously.
When declaring revenge, they claw a spiral into a building, the ground, nearest surface. It's a thing.
There are three categories of wolf:Alpha | Wolves
The Alpha is the leader of the pack. (To date, there's one "alpha" pack in canon, gathered together by a man named Deucalian, but they are the exception.) Except for one exception I'll get into below, a wolf becomes an alpha when he kills another alpha. The alpha wolf leads a pack. They can turn others into wolves by biting them. Their pack defers to them. Their word is god, essentially. Derek Hale is an example of an alpha.
Regarding members of the alpha pack, they seem to have attained extra skills. The twin alphas can morph into a super wolf, Kali needs a serious pedicure, Deucalian can see when a wolf, but not when human, though he has serious skills with his cane.
The alpha pack defers to Deucalian. Their politics are barbaric. If you kill an alpha, they will chase you down to join their pack or they'll kill your betas one by one thereby forcing you to. They protect each other and themselves.
Beta | Wolves
The Beta is a part of a pack. He or she is not an alpha. They're taught. But, the main trait is that they're a part of a pack. They defer to the alpha. Isaac Lahey and Erica Reyes are betas.
Omega | Wolves
The Omega has no pack. He or she has no alpha they turn to. Currently, Scott McCall is an omega. It's been revealed that the alpha twins Ethan and Aiden were once omegas as well, or, as Stiles put it: the bitches of the pack.*The one exception in becoming an alpha is the true alpha. A true alpha can become one by sheer force of will because of their great strength of character. It has been revealed that Scott is a true alpha and this is why Deucalian has his blind eyes on him. They are incredibly rare. Isaac is not one.
Unlike some lore, these werewolves do not shift during the full moon but they still go through a period of recklessness, pain, unpredictability and they're still a liability. They can be dangerous if left to their own devices or not chained up. But, a wolf has a weapon against this. Their anchor. It can be a memory, a person, something that tethers them to sanity. Scott's was Allison. Isaac's is the memory of a happier time with his father. He has a less hard time during the full moon then, say, Erica and Boyd.
Werewolves can be harmed with silver bullets. High voltage jolts of electricity can also keep them weakened. They can also be weakened and disoriented by wolfsbane. When poisoned, they may hallucinate, act out, and otherwise act irrationally. They deliberately keep a low profile. What they are is never common knowledge.
It's also shown in the show that a bite from a werewolf doesn't always means what results will be another werewolf. Firstly, the person for whatever reason could completely reject the bite. They will then die. Painfully. Sorry to say. But, there is one confirmed case and one presumed case of someone becoming something other then a werewolf.Kanima | And His Master
Sometimes, a bite's result is determined by what type of person gets it. Jackson Whittemore seeks out Derek Hale and asks for the bite. Because he is such a douchebag or some such, he becomes a kanima, a lizard creature which moves quickly, has a paralyzing scratch and does the bidding of his master, Matt Daehler, a student mistreated at a party who almost drowned. The kanima takes on traits of its master. Because Matt was afraid of water, the kanima couldn't go in the pool. Killing a kanima's master makes you its' new master sort of like rubbing a found lamp makes a genie yours.
The Banshee | And Her Scream
While it hasn't been outright confirmed, it can be inferred that Peter biting Lydia either brought out her latent banshee abilities or turned her into a banshee. Lydia has been seen getting up to go somewhere but ending up in the vicinity of a dead body without realizing why or how she got there. She has a piercing scream that has signified a death but if she taps into it, she believes she may be able to foresee said death. She's had a connection to the dead, able to hear ghosts at the motel.
Werewolves also have other nifty abilities. Peter Hale can be seen tapping into someone's memory by jutting his claws into a wolf's neck. A werewolf can take a person or an animal's pain away.
Getting to Peter Hale, he also had a connection with Lydia Martin after biting her. With that connection, he was able to be resurrected, though this hasn't been addressed directly. We still don't know how. That's the case with a lot of this canon because explanations are hardly given.
Druids
Getting back to druids. Druids and werewolves date back to ancient times but remain in contact. Druids go one of two ways in the world.Good | Emissaries
Every pack it seems has an emissary. This person consults/advises and protects when need be. They usually have vast knowledge past what they let someone know. Deaton and his sister, Ms. Morrell are emissaries.
Druids use ancient magic and herbs. A ring of mountain ash can keep a supernatural creature either in or out of somewhere. Deaton provides Scott and Stiles with mistletoe in order to convince Derek that Jennifer is evil.
Bad | Darachs
In the third season, it's revealed that someone is making sacrifices (virgins, healers, soldiers, philosophers, now guardians) and that someone is Julia (Jennifer Blake, their fake English teacher), a former emissary turned dark druid. When a druid takes what they know and uses it for evil they are a darach. A darach can gain abilities through their sacrifices. Jennifer has been seen using a superhuman strength (one finger pushes a desk across a room, one hand sends Scott flying) as well as an ability to force someone back (Kali is sent flying as well). They're still very much in touch with the ancient world, the gods. Julia or, Ms. Blake, also used mistletoe to fell her victims. Moths, too. She can get inside her victim's heads. Stiles friend from grade school thought wine was shattering everywhere when nothing was actually happening and the deputy sheriff saw her own body lying in the school showers.
Hunters
In this world, with werewolves come werewolf hunters. One such group are the Argents, a family of hunters that seems to have dated back to the 70's. They have a code they live by. (Though not everybody follows it.) Found wolves are tortured. Lone wolves are bisected with a great sword. They seem to have ties to other hunters as well. Allison Argent had a brief stint in the family business after her mother died. She is a hell of a shot with a bow. Hunters have all sorts of fun weapons to go up against werewolves. They can track wolves. One such Argent, Gerard, (Allison's grandfather) is a psychopathic, borderline sociopathic bigot. He ended up killing Matt to control the kanima, all because his endgame was to get Derek to give him the bite to beat cancer.
Personality:Isaac Lahey, first and foremost is a loving, good person. This stems from his childhood and the relationship he had with his father. Most of what drives him are these memories. And post bite when he needs an anchor to keep himself in line during the full moon, it's those good memories that anchor him. It's the memory of his father before his brother died overseas during the war. But, his brother did die. And that affected his life irrevocably.
Before the bite, Isaac is a quiet loner who works at the graveyard digging graves. He doesn't speak up. He cowers in fear. He takes shit. He apologizes for no reason. He's abused by his father. He's skittish. But, Derek offers him a way out. Life has gotten out of hand and he's ready to take it back on his terms. During a fight, Isaac ends up being cut by class but it heals. His father discovers something is up but Isaac flees. Isaac is unaware when his father is attacked in the night while trying to find his son.
But Isaac adapts. He simply takes in a new situation, molds himself to it and moves on. He lived with his father's abuse. He found a way out. And he felt he owed Derek. Even after Derek throws that glass at him, Derek remains his alpha and he does what he can to save him from the pack of alphas.
Erica and Boyd deserted Derek. Isaac won't do that. Derek really is all he has right at the end of season 2. He's an orphan and at one time, a runaway.
Being given the bite gives Isaac ten times more confidence then he's ever had. After the charges of murdering his father are dropped against him, he strides on into class with a swagger. He's suddenly cocky, flirtatious, and a little bit mean. When talking to Stiles about asking Lydia out (after Stiles expresses zero interest in the story) he confirms that he'd kill her - rather then write her a poem. He isn't a good writer. He's joking however because his sense of humor has gotten darker. He takes zero shit. He does what he wants. He and Erica Reyes, a fellow newbie wolf stalk the halls. And they look good doing it. He knows this. In general, in any situation, he goes in cocky and half-cocked. He goes into the lacrosse game in "Battlefield" saying he's going to win. He just knows. He's that good. Cocky really is an understatement for him. His sarcasm is dry and sometimes, he won't hide his 'what the fuck are you even thinking' face.
He vandalizes, threatens people, outright attacks them - suddenly feeling all this pride does have negative side effects. At times, he's a dick. He will disobey, lie and manipulate to get what he wants because he can finally have what he wants.
But, a lot of this stems from wanting to impress people. Being rejected by Lydia Martin and living across the street from Jackson Whittemore does that to a guy. He wants to impress Derek, his alpha, Erica - anyone, really. In fact, there's a lot going on under the surface, under all is bravado. At the end of the day, he is loving and wants to be loved in return. When Deaton shows him and Scott that they can take an animal's pain away? He cries tears of joy. He revels in it. He ends up being quite the ally to Scott after spending a lot of episodes being selfish and condescending.
At one time he looked down on Stiles and Scott. They were dumbasses, if you asked him. But, towards the end of season two, Scott became a real ally. Which brings me to Scott McCall. Isaac not only respects Scott McCall but submits to him. When Derek throws him out of the loft, he goes right to Scott who doesn't hesitate to take him in. He and Scott fought side by side against Jackson and Gerard. He looks after Allison when Scott asks him to check on her. Scott is probably the only real friend he had. Even his and Boyd's friendship was strained.
He still doesn't take Stiles seriously. As for Allison, they're currently on a tentative truce because as far as he's concerned, they're all allies. And he may be struggling with something towards her. It hasn't been addressed in the show out loud. There's some kind of silent connection there. She also helped him frame Aiden and that was fun. There's definitely something happening.
There's also a wild side the show hints at. In "Raving" he and Erica attempt to distract Jackson (who was revealed the be the kanima) at a rave by dancing with him, Erica sandwiched between them. Isaac seems very into it, even making eye contact with Jackson, luring him in. Sometimes, it's just good to blow off steam and have fun. His life lacked fun before. It doesn't now. Plain and simple.
Isaac also has severe anger and depression issues. Because of his past abuse and his constant loss in his life, he is three seconds from going off pretty much all the time. He will shoot (so-to-speak) and ask questions later. He doesn't hesitate to try and fight back against the alpha twins. What he's gone through, an average person might break but he works at proving that he's fine. He finds a fashion sense. He tries to find an identity. He clings to Scott but still works at protecting Derek. In truth, Isaac lives a very sad life but hopes to not one day.
Like others in the Teen Wolf universe, the werewolf bite doesn't fundamentally change a person. It simply enhances what he is. It makes him more - more confident, more reckless, more impish, more strong -- but it doesn't change that at his heart, Isaac is a good guy. And he'll do anything for his pack, for Scott, his mom and anybody Scott wants to protect.
As for how Isaac will react? Firstly, he'll probably figure - yep, that's his life. He won't be surprised. He's lost people. He was abused. Why doesn't he get to hover somewhere between life and death? As for the setting itself, it'll be really strange to think that he's on a floating turtle. Also, he's going to need to find some better non-Chinese clothing. But, he'll be a fan of the suite! It'll be more luxury then he's probably ever had. If people he knows keep showing up, then he'll sit back and just live there. He doesn't have many people in his life at all so, he'll adapt in any way he can. It'll be weird if he doesn't have his alpha there, that's for sure. So, finding purpose and getting to decide for himself could be interesting.

In-Character Samples:
Third Person:Isaac hadn't wanted to leave Scott behind but they needed to get Cora somewhere safe. With Peter Hale yelling into his ear, he sped off, hoping someone would call him with an update. This part of the plan had worked. Finally. For too long, it felt like they were ten steps behind everyone. The darach kept taking victims. She'd targeted Boyd, him, Scott, and (ugh) Ethan. Isaac deliberately pushed the events of the motel to the back of his mind. It was hard not to be reminded of his time with his dad, the freezer...
But, he could suppress those memories.
If that wasn't enough, the alpha pack and Deucalian were also ahead of the game. He had to wonder why the hell they were so far behind. All they kept doing was finding victims and reacting to things. And the one time they attempted to fight back, Boyd was killed.
Erica was dead. He'd spent a month kidnapped. A stranger had saved him only to completely disappear. Of course he had to be the one who was dunked under ice.
His grip tightening on the wheel, he sped through a yellow light. Cora was the priority right now. Quickly, he glanced down to his phone, willing it to ring. That was the funny thing about watched pots.
Tonight had to have gone right. His life had been shit for the past few weeks. Their lives had been fucked with. He felt like they were all pawns. Stiles could get under his nerves but he'd had a point in Ms. Blake's class. (No, wait, Julia's. Her name was Julia.) Scott had filled him in. She and the alpha pack were playing with a freaking full deck. They could see the whole board. Isaac, Scott, Allison, Stiles - they were all pawns. No, Isaac was a knight. Allison, probably the queen. Scott was the king and Stiles was - what were the other chess pieces?
Somehow, Scott kept getting put into check.
Eventually, it had to stop, right? There was such thing as rock bottom and by this point, it felt like they'd hit it. They had to catch a break.
Swerving around a car, Isaac sped up. He blocked out Peter yelling at him. Don't worry, uncle Peter, he wasn't going to get into an accident. He knew how to drive. And they had to get her safe.
He could picture everything clearly. Scott was taking his mom home. Allison and her dad got away. Derek was getting the cure from Ms. Blake. The alphas wouldn't know what hit them and they'd finally, finally get a W. They would save Cora and they would find Stiles' dad. It was going to happen. It had to happen.
Things couldn't get any crappier then they already were.
Network:[ Isaac can be seen at one of the consoles in a console cafe. He's wearing the same clothes he showed up in. ]
You guys really take these sectors literally, don't you? I literally live in the fire sector. It's everywhere. And gives off no heat. So, that's weird.
Also, internet cafes. Making a comeback. So, I have a few questions. Anyone can answer. This reaches everyone, right? [ So. ] Any modern clothing around here? I'd take anything in a V-neck. A sensible sweater. I like stripes. [ And scarves. Something decidedly not Chinese. ] Anybody think it's completely ridiculous that we're living on a giant turtle? Anybody? [ Bueller? ]
Also, policy on guests. I have friends here and I'm pretty sure I have the nicest digs out of everyone. [ Which is an amazing change of pace. ] Should I just ask my roommates? Not care? I'm leaning toward not care but it couldn't hurt to ask, right?
Also, people get work here, right? I feel like I should get a job. Earn my really nice keep. [ Seriously, that suite! ]
And finally, ever think life can't get any worse and then it just does? [ That last one might be a rhetorical question. Though, it is a little good not to be surrounded by darachs and alphas. ] Glad to know it's not me.
